PASANG AWA! ( Pitiful grade??)

I really don’t know how to translate that into English, hence the question mark. I just got my mid term exam result yesterday and I would really call it “passang awa”. It is the term we use to describe a pitiful grade. Some may not say so but in my standard it is. I could have done much better. But to defend myself…it is our first exam and I still have to learn, excuse me, re-learn the tactics of exam taking (hehe… tactics?? Sounds like cheating…lol). I definitely do not do cheating. After 20 years away from being in a university classroom, I guess I’m not doing so badly. I just need to get used to things and I’m pretty much on the road. Hopefully my finals will not be as bad.

I still have to receive my results in the report. I hope … I did well and I am hoping for a more decent grade. Decent? … like 85 and above. That is decent enough. If my instructor will give me 90 and above that would be categorized as excellent. 95 and above is …. Outstanding?? ….hehe…that will be wishing to much!!!! LOL That is way over my head. I’m already dreaming. The highest grade I got in my entire life is +99% on the NCEE exam. That is the exam all highschool graduates needs to take before going to college or universities. That was a fluke I guess but I enjoyed the chance to get called on stage, shake the hand of the principal, receive a plaque for my mother to keep (or show everybody?) and a bit of money in my pocket. It was a fluke for it never happened again…hehe. I should not talk about my board exam result. And please do not ask…hehe. Darn engineering course! :o)

Something to ponder on:

“The most unfair thing about life is the way it ends. I mean, life is tough. It takes up a lot of your time. What do you get at the end of it? A Death! What's that, a bonus? I think the life cycle is all backwards. You should die first, get it out of the way. Then you live in an old age home. You get kicked out when you're too young, you get a gold watch, you go to work. You work forty years until you're young enough to enjoy your retirement. You do drugs, alcohol, you party, you get ready for high school. You go to grade school, you become a kid, you play, you have no responsibilities, you become a little baby, you go back into the womb, you spend your last nine months floating......
...................and you finish off as an orgasm.”

…… it does makes sense, doesn’t it???

It maybe disappointing but take it as challenge [and not a direct assault to your intelligence :-)] that will propell you to the next level.

There are many reasons why things do not go our way. The times that we feel we're on top of the world may help us deal with the current dissapointment. And that is to let us think of what we missed or overloooked.

Life is full of hits and misses. A better perspective helps us learn from our shortcomings and the lessons that we keep will be our beacon every step of the way.

I am taking it with humor. Not really assulting my intelligence. Anyway thanks for the quotes and advice. I always do my best in everything I do. Sometimes no matter how prepared I think I am.. I still find it not enough. But like you said, we learn as we go along the way and hope that more tests come our way.
